AG Gallery is pleased to present 18 young artists in a group show entitled "Let's Laugh At Stereotypes."
All the artists created alter egos on which to project, exaggerate and play with their racial and cultural identities. By using fictional personas, the artists explored stereotypes without self-restraint in photographic and video works.

Humor in these personality constructions welcomes the viewer to engage into the dialogue the work suggests. By laughing, we are healing ourselves from the dilemma and the sensitivity of issues of stereotypes. Viewing the photographs allows us to see just how ridiculous our ignorant views of others are.

Let's face it, everyone has stereotypes. However, if we can laugh at the matter that causes confrontation and misunderstanding, we remove it from a negative context and turn it into happy wine conversation.
" Hey, what's your stereotype?"

"Let's Laugh at Stereotypes - Photo/Video Group Exhibition" will be on view at AG Gallery through December 7th 2004. The gallery is located at 103 North 3rd St. (between Berry and Wythe Ave.).
