Wired Alchemist:
Kentaro Sunaga The Nengyo-shi Iemoto

Sponsored by The Artcomplex Center of Tokyo (ACT)

Painter: KIRIUROCO http://web.me.com/kiriuroco

BIO
Born June 11, 1983 in Tokyo, Japan.
From a young age I liked to make things, so while attending a dressmaking school, I studied Japanese calligraphy and drew. After graduating from Sugino Gakuen Dressmaker College the same year, Kiriuroco made her first appearance in 2004. Kiriuroco incorporates a wide range of materials in her art.

Artist Statement
Kiriuroco's art is free flowing. Different people will look at each piece uniquely: One's nationality, gender, age, work and varying life experiences come together to shape how that person looks upon a particular piece; depending on one's imagination, the possibilities expand infinitely.
Kiriuroco's art knows no rules. Feel free to craft your own interpretation: Don't over think a particular piece; there may be aspects that make you feel good or aspects that peak your curiosity; find that which appeals to you and make it your own.

illustration+textile designer: coto:koto (MAKOTO OHMASU) http://cotokoto.exblog.jp/

BIO
He was born in 1977, grew up in the home of myths, Izumo province, Japan. In the year of 2005, he started the original brand coto:koto. Since then, he has brought back the deities that had been always there in his childhood into the forms of daily tools designed with the concepts inspired by Izumo myths.

Artist Statement
We started the line of coto:koto to create "a tool in your daily life". The concept of coto:koto is based on the Izumo Myths set in Izumo province, Japan. From Izumo, the home of myths to all over Japan and to the world, we hope that coto:koto will be a gift passed on to the next generation as "a message from a tool", just as how the myths have been succeeded from generation to generation in this country.

Wired Alchemist: Kentaro Sunaga The Nengyo-shi Iemoto http://www.myspace.com/iemotomaster

I am interested in the insect kind, all the plants, animals, the all things in nature as the visible forming. And also, the one not visible, fairy, spirits of the deads, energy, the demon, the angel, the satan, the buddhist image, god's image, and the space alien.

All elements become my production desires.

"acrylic wool + wire + symmetry x head of a school's psychokinesis = nengyou."

The work made by original Kentaro Sunaga's technique is called nengyou.
