[Statement]
These photographs have been taken from a simple point of view. Multiple objects exist in a picture. Each object is looking at different direction. None of them are special and they all stand on the same level. Everything is ONE. They refuse to be better or worse, more beautiful or less. These photographs express a total harmony in the whole scene as well as its imperfection.

We start realizing a difference between our existence and others during the process of growing up. 5 senses (especially SIGHT) limit our existence (space) only to our body, and it gives us a sense of gindividualityh. However, I desire to feel the togetherness with the world coming from a comfortable wind. I am connected to the world in the level of its particle. I insist to be a part of the world and the world is the magnified existence of myself.

This project is a way of experiment to recover the togetherness of the world and my existence through the SIGHT that once separated myself from the world.

7/1-7/7 Mitsuko Sawada "Feel the Music, Feel the soul"
Opening Reception: 7/1, Friday, 7-10pm

Mitsuko is a strong lover of singing, dancing, and laughing. Recently she has been taking jazz dance, tap dance, classic ballet, and jazz vocal lessons. She feels that music, dancing, and painting are as necessary to her as air or water. When painting, Mitsuko feels these three things are all related to each other.

Mitsuko has lived in four different countries: Japan, France, England, and the United States. She has also traveled to many countries and became interested in people of different cultures through her unique experiences.

Painting is like a diary for Mitsuko; she strives to draw faithfully her feelings and thoughts. Painting is a kind of medicine for her, bringing her comfort when she feels sad and lonely and also a place to reflect her emotions when she is very happy.

Currently she loves to paint musicians who sing or play instruments from their hearts. When she is really impressed by the musicians she starts to paint. When she can hear their music from the canvas, she stops painting. She often goes to Jazz clubs, drawing during the concerts. She can not stop drawing when she is listening to music.

She also always needs to express movement and excitement. When she paints, she uses her whole body like she is dancing; otherwise she thinks that her paintings do not come alive.
